Gennady is a homework help app for primary school children ages 6 to 11. The child photographs a worksheet, the app automatically recognizes the tasks and explains them in a child-friendly way, step by step. The child can answer by voice, text or photo; Gennady checks the answer and rewards correct solutions with stars.

The key difference to many solver apps: Gennady does not hand out the solution. The app gives hints and explanations, and the child takes the final step alone. The goal is understanding instead of copying, and less homework conflict in families.

For early readers there is also a read-aloud feature with word-by-word highlighting: the child photographs any text and reads along while the app reads it out. Gennady is developed and operated by TopieT GmbH in Hilden, Germany.
